This is a new world expression of an old world varietal. This Pinot Noir has all the complexity and character of an old world wine, but is followed by a cleanliness and brightness with a fresh fruit character suited to new world palates.
WINEMAKER'S NOTE
This youthful and savoury wine has great character and is supple in nature. Leading off with fresh notes of ripe white cherry, a hint of raspberry and cassis, complex red fruits remain on the palate and give way to a pleasant minerality and touch of earthiness. Smooth tannins coupled with a hint of mature red fruit, nettle and baking spice on the finish make this a beautifully structured, food-friendly wine.
FOOD MATCHES
The tannin in this wine reaches for a distinctive food pairing. Consider a duck or a pork roast to allow this Pinot Noir to play up its complexities while balancing its acidity. A creamy mushroom risotto would also be a great pairing to showcase this Pinot Noir’s structure and flavour profile. When looking for cheese pairings, choose cheeses with creaminess like an aged Camembert, or delicate flavours such as Comte.
