Spending a short time on skins at the start of fermentation, the 2018 Rosé is a delicate, pale salmon colour. Fermented and aged in stainless steel, this wine has a fresh and fruit driven feel with elegant structure.
On the nose, subtle orchard blossom opens up into more expressive notes of white cherry, peach and nectarine, complemented by a slight touch of dried rosehip. Bright stone fruit follows through on the palate alongside a pleasant hint of mandarin. Dry with a light body and a lean acidity, this wine has a graceful, smooth finish.
The 2018 Rosé’s light body and delicate fruit need a pairing of equal weight. A salad featuring roasted nuts, fresh peach and a light vinaigrette would be a great match. In terms of protein, think along the lines of grilled scallops, or oven roasted chicken with rosemary. For cheeses, keep things light and fresh with mascarpone or a whipped goat cheese.
