At Kew Vineyards we pride ourselves on our unique vineyard, which includes some of the oldest vines in Ontario, along with a few rare varietals for the region. Nothing is more special, in our opinion, than our Marsanne vines, which remain unique to us and continue to thrive, despite our cool climate and the challenges it presents.
With our Marsanne vines becoming more established over the last ten years, our winemaker Philip Dowell continues to show his passion for Rhône varietals by expanding our portfolio to include a sparkling wine produced solely from Marsanne - the first of its kind in Canada.
Unique characteristics of eucalyptus and thyme on the nose open up more broadly into notes of savoury dark florals and bergamot. With an incredibly refined mousse, the palate leads off with great acidity and notes of fresh tropical fruits. Quite reminiscent of our table wine, the richness of this sparkling wine develops on the mid-palate with a decadent mouthfeel. A burst of tart lemon on the back palate keeps the finish clean and structured.
This sparkling is best served with a fully loaded charcuterie board, sushi and creamy pasta dishes.
